One of the Midwest’s premiere Latin jazz ensembles, saxophonist Doug Little and his blazing septet offer a free workshop through the Jazz at Studio Z project. Learn how Cuban music and jazz are sculpted together! The afternoon workshop, geared to students of all ages, will be followed by the band’s performance at Studio Z at 8 pm ($10/$5 students).

The workshop and concert series are supported by a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and additional sponsorship from the Lowertown Entertainment District, Schmitt Music, Black Dog Café, Riverview Wine Bar, and Twin Cities Jazz Society. Studio Z is located on the second floor of the Northwestern Building at 275 E. 4th Street in St. Paul’s Lowertown. This series of monthly workshops/concerts continues through spring 2012. Upcoming: November 19 with the Zacc Harris Quartet; December 17th with Bryan Nichols’ We Are Many.
