About the workshop:
The pioneers of jazz created spontaneous responses within the needs of the moment. Having worked professionally in the birthplace of Jazz for almost 20 years, Christopher will share his insights about developing a personal, improvisational, creative spirit; incorporating the unknown into a musician’s comfort zone; and utilizing in-the-moment strategies such as “swing” to convey ideas and create a mutual feeling with those around you.
Thank you to The MacPhail Center for Music for hosting this event.
This workshop is supported in part by a grant to The Dakota Foundation for Jazz Education from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, funded through Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
