Dakota Combo to hold open auditions

The Dakota Combo will hold auditions for the 2012-2013 ensemble on Sunday, September 9, Noon – 4 pm at the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis. Serious jazz students entering grades 9-12 in the fall are invited to try out. No pre-registration necessary and all instruments welcome. The Dakota Combo is an all-star ensemble that will rehearse biweekly throughout the school year with director Adam Linz. The Combo will perform in a variety of settings, including jazz clubs, festivals, and concert halls, and will attend workshops and clinics with visiting guest artists. The Combo is a program of the MacPhail Center for Music. All tuition and expenses are supported in full through a partnership with the Dakota Foundation for Jazz Education.
